HSSD (Vesda etc) |
| |
| |
It is quite often found that rooms that are protected by a fire suppression system are also protected by an independent HSSD (High Sensitivity Smoke Detection System). Our project and field engineer team are fully trained in the design and installation of Vesda. Our engineers have many years experience in a wide range of environments. Our engineers carry consumable spares for vesda products, such as batteries and filters. |

Room Pressure Integrity Testing |
| |
| |
A fire protection system needs to operate to the best of its ability and to maximum efficiency. To do this, adequate containment of the extinguishant within the risk area is necessary and it is therefore a requirement that integrity testing is carried out on a regular basis (at least annually). The 'integrity' of an enclosure is its capability to retain an extinguishing agent.
The test does not involve the discharging of extinguishant, and can be repeated at very short notice and therefore allowing more than one test (if required) on a single visit.
A written report is issued on completion of each test and a certificate issued if a positive result is achieved. This certificate is valid for one year unless changes have been made to the room during the year (e.g. equipment upgrade and enclosure modification) - if any of these have occurred then a retest should be undertaken after all works have been completed. If tests indicate failure to meet the required retention time, then a survey is carried out noting leakage areas. A report is then submitted indicating remedial sealing works required to improve results.

Disabled Refuge Systems |
| |
| |
These systems have been available for sometime, yet have more recently been requested to play a more vital role in the management of a potential emergency incident. They are also frequently installed to assist with the DDA (Disabilities Discrimination Act) and refuge requirements, and for this reason it is vital that they are designed, installed and commissioned to the BS5839 Pt9 standard; something we are well placed to provide and advise upon. |
